Datapod showcased at international mining conference
Datapod will be showcasing the Datapod System at the International AustMine 2013 Conference to be held in Perth from 20 – 23 May 2013.
Datapod has already deployed Datapod Systems for some of Australia’s biggest mining enterprises and is looking to assist other mining companies to drive onsite productivity by utilising the latest in modular Data Centre 2.0 design and technology.
The patented ‘click together’ design and manufactured approach by Datapod means a fully operational, redundant and enterprise grade data centre can be deployed within 3-4 months and deliver significant CAPEX and OPEX cost saving for mining customers.
The rugged design also means the Datapod System can be deployed in extreme remote locations and can withstand cyclones and lightning strikes.
Datapod Director Adam Smith will head the team travelling to Perth and believes there are many cost and productivity benefits associated with deploying an onsite Datapod System.
Mr Smith said, “The Datapod System enables our customers to leverage from a pay-as-you-go service model which not only gets assets off their balance sheet but also lets customers align costs with fluctuating business needs and changes in technology.”
The Datapod Systems are already driving productivity at mines in Mount Isa and Broken Hill by helping customers meet the need for massive onsite, on demand computers to analyse geological and geospatial data, to provide IT infrastructure for short or medium term projects and to help mine the massive amounts of data produced from Smart Grid technologies.
“The patented design of the Datapod data centre system means it is just at home in an extreme and hazardous environment at a mine site as it is in an inner city urban environment. The Datapod System provides customers with an enterprise grade data centre and can include features such as clean rooms, energy efficient cooling, as well as a number of power and cooling redundancies,” Mr Smith said.
Mr Smith will lead a team from Datapod to the International AustMine Conference and will demonstrate the flexibility of the Datapod System using the industry first Datapod App at the Datapod Stand.
Datapod will be located at stand six at the Perth Convention Centre for the International AustMine 2013 Conference from 20-23 May 2013.
